• Book information (titles, authors, ISBN, reading progress)
• Voice reflections and audio recordings
• Reading session data (pages read, time spent)
• User preferences and settings
• Account information (if you create an account)
2.2 Automatically Collected Information
• Device information (model, operating system, unique identifiers)
• Usage data (app features used, session duration)
• Analytics data (crashes, performance metrics)
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
• Provide and improve our reading tracking services
• Sync your data across devices (if you have Premium)
• Generate personalized statistics and insights
• Process transcriptions of voice reflections
• Send reading reminders (with your permission)
• Provide customer support
• Analyze app usage to improve our services
• Communicate important updates about the app
4. Data Storage and Security
4.1 Local Storage
All your data is stored locally on your device by default. We use WatermelonDB for secure local data storage.
4.2 Cloud Sync (Premium Feature)
Premium subscribers can opt-in to cloud sync via Supabase. Your data (including reading history, reflections, and audio files) is encrypted in transit using HTTPS and stored securely in our highly secure Supabase database with industry-standard security measures. Only you can access your synced data.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
• Supabase: Secure cloud database for Premium users who enable cloud sync. Your data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and stored securely in our database.
• RevenueCat: Subscription and payment processing
• Whisper API: Transcription of voice reflections (Premium feature, opt-in only). Voice recordings are only sent to the Whisper API for transcription and are not shared with any other third parties.
• PostHog: Privacy-focused analytics (anonymized data only)
These services have their own privacy policies governing their use of your data. We carefully select services that respect user privacy and comply with data protection standards.
6. Voice Recordings & Transcription
• Voice recordings are stored locally on your device by default
• Premium users can enable cloud sync - audio files are stored securely in our Supabase database with encryption
• Transcription is opt-in only for Premium users
• When you use transcription, your voice notes are sent securely to the Whisper API for processing only
• WE DO NOT SHARE YOUR VOICE RECORDINGS WITH ANYONE ELSE EXCEPT THE WHISPER API FOR TRANSCRIPTION PURPOSES
• Your data is not used to train any models (per the API data usage policy)
• Transcriptions are stored in your account (locally or in Supabase if cloud sync is enabled)
• You can delete recordings and transcriptions at any time, and they will be permanently removed
7. Data Sharing
We do NOT sell your personal data. We only share data:
• With service providers who help us operate the app (Supabase, RevenueCat, Whisper API)
• When required by law or to protect our rights
• With your explicit consent
8. Children's Privacy
Pick Up is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.
9. Your Rights
You have the right to:
• Access your personal data
• Export all your data in a portable format (JSON)
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Opt out of analytics
• Control cloud sync settings
• Request data correction
• Withdraw consent for transcription
10. Data Retention
• Local data remains on your device until you delete it
• Cloud data is deleted when you delete your account
• Analytics data is anonymized and retained for service improvement
• You can delete voice recordings yourself at any time directly in the app, and they will be permanently removed
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to you via the app or email. Continued use of Pick Up after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
